FAQs
What should I expect during my first Massage Therapy session?
During your first visit, your therapist will go over your health history, discuss any concerns or goals you have, and explain the treatment plan. You’ll be given privacy to undress to your comfort level, and the therapist will ensure you’re always properly draped. The session will be tailored to your needs.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
You don’t need a referral to book an appointment, but some extended health benefit plans do require one for reimbursement. It’s best to check with your insurance provider beforehand.
What conditions can massage therapy help with?
Massage therapy can help with a wide range of concerns, including:
-
Muscle tension and chronic pain
-
Headaches and migraines
-
Sports or work-related injuries
-
Stress and anxiety
-
Postural imbalances
-
Joint stiffness or limited mobility
How often should I get a massage?
Frequency depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people benefit from weekly sessions for a period of time, while others maintain their wellness with monthly visits. Your therapist can help you create a plan that works for you.
What if I’m uncomfortable or in pain during the massage?
Communication is key! Always let your therapist know if the pressure is too much—or not enough—or if something doesn’t feel right. Your comfort and safety are our top priorities
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing to your appointment. You’ll be given time and privacy to undress to your comfort level. You’ll always be properly covered with a sheet or blanket during the treatment.
